The hon’ble Supreme Court after a lot of debate and discussion finally gave its verdict on the much awaited issue of PM CARES Fund.

“There is no statutory prohibition on contributions to NDRF and the contributions to the PM CARE funds are voluntary, Funds collected by PM CARES Fund are entirely different. And, these funds are funds of charitable trust, this fund need not be transferred “, sentenced the SC and quoted Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in a press conference after the judgment came.

Ø  Congress Party had put forward a plea in SC to transfer the PM CARES Fund to NDRF. But, however the verdict came out against the plea and it was straight away dismissed.

The response of the BJP government towards the verdict was welcoming but surprisingly, the Congress party said that they are neither convinced nor satisfied with the very judgment passed by the SC.

Congress spokespersons in many TV debates confirmed the same and received backlash from both media and the public. It is the second time in the month of August that the SC verdict came in support of the Modi govt. and Congress party criticized the verdict (first time on the Rafael fighter jet deal issue).

Ø This behavior by Congress Party leaders and spokespersons might come back to haunt them as it is not considered commendable to disrespect the decision of the paramount SC. Also, the party is under the crisis of many leaders such as Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sachin Pilot turning against the party high command. Bad times are not polite to BJP either as Union Home Minister was admitted to AIIMS, New Delhi after recovering from the coronavirus infection.

The COVID-19 pandemic but is inevitably affecting every party, country and religion. The Russian govt. gave signs of hope a few days back as they announced world’s first-ever Coronavirus vaccine, as confirmed by Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.
